About Oregon School for the Deaf

Salem, Oregon

Salem is the capital of the state of Oregon and the County Seat of Marion County. It is located along the Williamette River which runs through the center of the city. Salem was founded in 1842. It became the capital of the Oregon Territory in 1851, and was incorporated in 1857. It has a population about about 140,000 residents.

Oregon School for the Deaf Information:

The Oregon School for the Deaf was established in November of 1870. It is a public institution serving the needs of deaf and hard of hearing students from kindergarten through 12th grade. It is one of the oldest continuously operating schools in Oregon.

Oregon School for the Deaf Ghosts and the Paranormal:

Students have reported seeing a shadow person at the Oregon School for the Deaf in Salem as well as apparitions in the restrooms particularly.
