Blairsden Mansion:

Blairsden Mansion in Somerset Hills was named for its original owner, Clinton Ledyard Blair, an investment banker and entrepreneur. The mansion was built between 1898 and 1903.

Clinton Ledyard Blair died in 1949 at the age of 82. In 1950, the Blairsden Mansion and the 50 acre property was sold to the Sisters of St. John the Baptist. In the 1990′s the Sisters sold the Blairsden Mansion to the Blairsden Association. Currently, the Blairsden Mansion is under heavy restoration.

Ghosts and the Paranormal at the Blairsden Mansion in Peapack, New Jersey:

Peapack locals claim that there was a mass murder of nuns that lived in the Blairsden Mansion during the time when the Sisters of St. John the Baptist owned the building. According to this legend, a grocery boy discovered the nuns one day torn to pieces in a bloody massacre. Apparently, the legend claims, someone figured out that the Mother Superior had become fascinated with Paganism and sought to convert the other sisters. Her fanaticism led her to kill all the sisters including herself.

Local lore goes further to assert that the Blairsden was once an Catholic orphanage. According to this legend, the nuns took each of the orphans and pushed them over a cliff and then jumped over the cliff themselves.

And finally, locals also claim that there are two ghosts on the pathway leading up to the Blairden Mansion.. One of the ghosts is supposedly the Mother Superior herself.
