The Bowers Mansion Park is located on the eastern slope of the Sierra Nevada. The Bowers Mansion is in the center of the Bowers Mansion Park.
L.S. Sandy Bowers and his psychic wife, Eilley Orrum struck it rich with their gold mine in Gold Hill, Nevada. They were the first Comstock millionaires and with their wealth, they built the Bowers Mansion in 1864. They gathered furnishing from throughout the world.
The Bowers Mansion was restored in 1967. Today, guided tours are available.
Ghosts and the Paranormal at the Bowers Mansion in New Washoe City, Nevada:
Mrs. Bower is said to the haunt the 2nd floor of the Bowers Mansion. Eilley Orrum, her husband L.S. Sandy Bowers, and their children are, according to one source, buried on this hillside behind the mansion. Further, Mrs. Bowers was rumored to have conducted seances in the parlor of the house after her husband died.
Glowing apparitions have been reported in the hillside graveyard behind the Bowers Mansion, particularly on moonless nights.
