Bremerton, Washington is located in Kitsap County in the northwestern quadrant of the state. It is about 55 minutes away from Seattle via a ferry ride that carries both cars and walk-on passengers.
The original location of the Bremerton Community Theater is at 12th and Broadway. It is a small wooden building.
The Bremerton Community Theater was started to entertain a large influx of people who came to Bremerton to work at the Puget Sound Naval ShipYard during World War II. The population grew in 1939 from 15,000 residents to 75,000 residents in 1943. The Bremerton Community Theater opened its doors in 1944. Today, Bremerton is home to about 37,000 residents.
In 1976, the theater was moved from its original location at 12th and Broadway to a much larger and accommodating facility at 599 Lebo Blvd.
