Ceely Rose House | Malabar Farm Inn
The Ceely Rose House is haunted by Ceely Rose, a woman who killed her whole family in 1886 in an effort to be with a man that she loved. Ceely, then 23 years old, had a crush on a neighbor boy and her parents had scolded her for harassing him. So she took rat poison and put it into the family’s food one evening which ultimately landed her in a mental institution.
Her apparition has been seen a number of times by staff and guests at the Malabar Farm Inn. Specifically, people have reported seeing her looking out the windows of the home. A number of EVP’s have been captured by paranormal investigators such as the Central Ohio Paranormal Society. The Ohio Exploration Society has also visited the house to conduct investigations resulting in personal experiences and EVP’s as well.
