Bremerton, Washington is located in Kitsap County in the northwestern quadrant of the state. It is about 55 minutes away from Seattle via a ferry ride that carries both cars and walk-on passengers.
Chester Apartments was also known as Chester Manor but today it is known as Frank Chopp Place.
The Chester Apartments aka Chester Manor and/or Frank Chopp Place used to be Harrison Naval Hospital which was opened in 1911. It was the first hospital in Bremerton.
The Frank Chopp Place is a low income housing unit that was dedicated to House Speaker Frank Chopp. It is a 4 story building with 56 units that has been renovated recently. “The old Chester Manor, once a haven for crime and drugs, has been transformed into a bright multicolored housing development and renamed for Speaker of the House Frank Chopp.” According to the Low Income Housing Institute.
Reports of varied apparitions in the rooms and hallways. Objects move without explanation. Cold spots have been reported. There is a great deal of commentary out there about the Chester Apartments (Frank Chopp Place) and paranormal events said to occur there.
