The Avon, Indiana Cry Baby Bridge is located along County Road 625 East in Hendricks County spanning the White Lick Creek.

Ghosts and the Paranormal at Cry Baby Bridge in Avon, Indiana:

This railway bridge is famous for producing paranormal activity according to Avon locals. Stories have been told over the years to back up the haunting. Apparently, a man by the name of Henry Johnson fell into the cement used to build the bridge. He was a drunk and according to the local lore, he simply passed out and fell into the concrete and died. His face is still visible somewhere on the bridge, according to some.

Two other stories are regularly told about Cry Baby Bridge in Avon. One is that a pregnant woman threw herself off the side of the bridge and another is that a man hung himself from the bridge.

Several paranormal investigation teams have investigated the Avon, Indiana Cry Baby Bridge with mixed results. The Southern Indiana Ghosts team reported that it was likely that a nearby haunted bridge in Danville, Indianawas actually the site where an Irish man fell into the cement during bridge construction. Another ghost hunting group, the Nocturnal Investigative Ghost Hunting Team reported that the bridge contains some deep chambers or small rooms that can create echoing from the busy streets passing nearby. Also, there is a large electrical transformer located about 50 meters from the Avon, Indiana Cry Baby Bridge.

Ghosts of Cry Baby Bridge:

Avon locals report that the ghost of a construction worker who perished by falling into the cement during construction haunts the bridge. The disembodied sounds of a baby crying have also been reported here. And some locals claim thhttp://www.hauntin.gs/admin_places/addat people who drive underneath the bridge at night with the windows down will be able to hear the ghostly scream of the pregnant girl who jumped off the bridge to her death.

Other Related Haunts:

Though the stories about this bridge are mostly familiar, the tale about the Irish man falling into the cement is rather unique. There are a number of Cry Baby Bridges throughout the United States with stories similar to the other tales told about the Cry Baby Bridge in Avon, Indiana. For example, the story of Hannah’s Grave at Lake Wakonda in Nebraska is similar to the story about the pregnant girl who jumped to her death. In Greenville, Alabama, a pregnant woman and unborn child was actually slaughtered by her husband. The remains of the baby were speculated to have been buried at Cry Baby Creek in Greenville, Alabama.
