Location of Cry Baby Bridge:
There is some dispute about the actual location of Cry Baby Bridge. This may be due to the fact that the “bridge” is actually a “culvert”, at least according to some descriptions. According to some locals, the bridge is located near the Nature Preserve on Cap Ranch Road. Traveling past the Nature Preserve 1 to 2 ½ miles there is purportedly a very small bridge (the culvert). However, several online reports assert that there is no bridge-like structure in this area. If the culvert is there, it isn’t easy for non-locals to identify.
Another source says to take CR2100 off of FM779 north of Mineola to find the bridge. According to this report, the original bridge has been replaced by a concrete structure that has been repeatedly vandalized. It is covered with graffiti and located along a road with trees on both sides.

According to sources that claim that the bridge/culvert is in the vicinity of the Nature Preserve, there is an old cemetery located nearby.
The story of the bridge makes reference to the American Indians in the area. According to local lore, an Indian chief learned of a planned attach on his people by white men in the area and he separated the men from the women and children. The white men learned about the split and brutally killed the Indian chief, his warriors, and all the women and children at the trees near the bridge. Some people claim that there are trees that have branches and leaves that resemble an Indian chief’s face and headdress.
Ghosts at Cry Baby Bridge:
Cry Baby Bridge visitors report that if you turn your engine off on the bridge and then roll down the windows, the cries of the Indians who were purportedly massacred in the area.
