Interesting Facts about Cry Baby Bridge:

Cry Baby Bridge in Mansfield is a train bridge that spans across a two lane road running underneath.

Some Mansfield locals claim that Bloody Mary (also known as “Mary Jane”) is the person who threw her baby over the bridge. The gruesome deed is said to have taken place on Halloween night according to this story. However, another story about the bridge is that a teenage mother threw the baby over the bridge and then hung herself.

Ghosts at Cry Baby Bridge:

Mansfield locals recommend visiting Cry Baby Bridge on Halloween night to hear the disembodied sounds of an infant crying. Some say they have seen apparitions of the woman who threw her infant over the bridge.

Other Related Haunts:

Mansfield has plenty of haunted hotspots to keep a ghost hunter busy. Perhaps the most famous is the haunted prison known as the Mansfield Reformatory, but the Ceely Rose House (now known as the Malabar Farm Inn) in Mansfield is also said to be haunted. Pleasant Valley Cemetery is haunted by the people killed by Ceely Rose, according to locals who have captured orbs and other photographic anomalies on film.

Don’t forget to stop by the Lucas Cemetery if you’re visiting Cry Baby Bridge in Mansfield. The Lucas Cemetery is also said to be haunted by a woman known as Bloody Mary/Mary Jane. Though the name is the same, don’t get confused, it’s a different woman. This woman was a witch in the 1800’s and she was (according to stories told by locals) burned at the stake. Today, there is a tree with her name on it that marks the spot where she is buried and occasionally “bleeds”. Some Mansfield locals call this place “Mary Jane’s Cemetery”.
