Location:

Carnation, Washington is located in King County which is in the western/central part of the state.

The main road that connects Carnation and Fall City is Highway 203 is the Fall City Carnation Road NE.

History:

Carnation, Washington was initially incorporated on December 30, 1912 as Tolt, Washington. In 1917, Tolt Washington was changed to Carnation and then in 1928, it was changed back to Tolt. Finally, on October 29, 1951, it was changed back to Carnation to honor a nearby farm research facility operated by the Carnation Milk Products Company.

Fall City is a census designated place in King County, Washington. The first white settlement was built in 1856 during the Puget Sound War (1855-1856) to protect white settlers against Native American uprisings.

Apparently at a local camp, there is song called “Blue Walking” about a white dog named Blue that a local ranger had lost that was out wandering in the hills in between Carnation and Falls City.
