Savannah is located in Chatham County, Georgia.
Savannah was established in 1733 and served as the colonial capital of the Province of Georgia and the first state capital of Georgia. It was named for the Savannah River.
Grove Point Plantation Information:
According to the “Sights of Savannah” website (see resources below), the actual Grove Point Plantation house is no longer standing. A slave house still exists on the land that was once used at the plantation, however. The Grove Point Plantation is surrounded by marshes and bogs and the entrance driveway is located at the end of a dead end street. The slave house is located about a mile in on this entrance driveway.

Head east on I-16 E
Take exit 157A onto I95 S toward Brunswick/Jacksonville
Take exit 94 for GA-204 toward Savannah/Pembroke
Turn right at Abercorn St/Abercorn Extention/GA-204 E
Continue to follow Abercorn St/GA-204 E
Turn right at King George Blvd
Turn left at Grove Point Rd and travel until it dead-ends at Plantation entrance
