Hamilton Ghost Town

The Town

Located in northwestern Colorado in Chaffee County, near Craig.

Hamilton was the most remote mining town in Clear Creek Canyon. It was always a small town, but now it is now a ghost town that consists primarily of a few logs. According to John Cys, the only way to reach Hamilton is to take the 4×4 road to the US Forest gate and then hike for an hour and a half to what used to be Hamilton.

Paranormal Activities Reported:

The apparition of a mountain man or trapper has been sighted frequently in Hamilton wearing buckskins and smoking a pipe. The apparition is said to appear out of the corner of one’s eye. After catching a glimpse of the man, people report that they can smell the smoke from his pipe still lingering.
