Kansas City is located in northwestern Missouri at the confluence of the Kansas and the Missouri River. It has a population of about 480,000 residents.

Kansas City, Missouri was founded in 1838 and incorporated in March 28, 1853. It is located right next to Kansas City, Kansas which is right across the border. Kansas City, Missouri was the location of several battles during the Civil War including the Battle of Westport.

The Kaw River | Kansas River:

The Kansas River, also known as the “Kaw” is located in northeastern Kansas. It’s name comes from the Kanza people (Kaw) who lived in the area.

Ghosts and Spirits Haunting the Kaw River:

The apparition of a headless woman walks along the Kaw River Bank. She is supposedly, the ghost of a woman who perished in a covered wagon accident in which she rolled down a hill nearby and was decapitated. Whether or not there is a hill near the Kaw River, has not yet been verified. And where precisely along the Kaw River this ghostly apparition is supposed to manifest has not been specified by locals making the reports.
