Salem is the capital of the state of Oregon and the County Seat of Marion County. It is located along the Williamette River which runs through the center of the city. Salem was founded in 1842. It became the capital of the Oregon Territory in 1851, and was incorporated in 1857. It has a population about about 140,000 residents.
Lausanne Hall is located on Winter Street on the western edge of the Williamette campus.
Lausanne Hall is a college dormitory at Williamette University in Salem, Oregon. It is a three-story building that was erected in 1920. It is the oldest residence hall at Williamette University. It was remodeled in the 1980’s and suffered an insignificant fire in 2002 in a room on the third floor. It is able to house 152 students.

Employees at Lausanne Hall report that ghosts haunt the attic/upper floor of the building. Specifically, the spirit of a young woman roams about causing problems in the building.
