Mesa Verde- Cliff Palace

Mesa Verde- Cliff Palace

Location:

Located at Mesa Verde National Park. The only way you can visit Cliff Palace is by paying for a tour at the Visitor’s Center near the entrance to the park. It is a group tour, so you won’t be able to be alone on your visit and visitors are not permitted to roam about Cliff Palace (or any of the dwellings) without the group.

The History:

These were homes of the Ancestral Puebloan people that were abandoned many many years ago. Archeologists have not been able to find the exact reasons why these homes were abandoned. They are, however, fascinating structures of an obviously fascinating civilization.

The Haunting:

Spirits are said to roam about Cliff Palace.

Other Related Haunts:

If you’re interested in Native American haunts, check out the Cliff Dwellings in Manitou Springs, Colorado. These cliff dwellings are not as extensive as the ones at Mesa Verde, but you can actually go inside and take a look around inside them. One room at the Cliff Dwellings was used to store dead bodies. Photographic anomalies have been captured in this room by paranormal investigators on location.
