Austin is located in the central part of the state. It is the capital of the Texas. Austin is located in Travis County. It has a population of about 780,000 residents. It is the fifteenth largest city in the United States.

A variety of Indian tribes first lived in the area that is Austin, Texas including the Tonkawa, Apaches, and Comanches.

Austin’s first settlers arrived in the 1830′s. The original settlers to the area named their village “Waterloo”. The city was later renamed after Stephen F. Austin, the “father of Texas”. Austin is known as the “Live Music Capital of the World”.
