The Pillar of Fire is a Christian church with its headquarters in Denver, CO. It was established by a woman named Alma White (known to followers as Bishop Alma White) in 1901 but it was named the Pentecostal Union originally. Following a separation from her husband who began a different pentecostal revival in the area, she renamed the church the "Pillar of Fire".
Church adherents were referred to as "holy rollers" or "holy jumpers" because of their enthusiasm.
There are 6 other Pillar of Fire congregations in the U.S.
The name of the church comes from the following biblical passage:
"By day the Lord went ahead of them in a pillar of cloud to guide them on their way and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light, so that they could travel by day or night. Neither the pillar of cloud by day nor the pillar of fire by night left its place in front of the people." Exodus 13: 21-22
The Shadowlands report makes a claim that a murder took place in or near the church, but we have not been able to find any historical evidence for this in our research as yet.
Reports of apparitions in the tower windows and ectoplasmic mists in the cemetery.
