Site where Bonnie and Clyde were killed

Bonnie Elizabeth Parker and Clyde Chestnut Barrow, better known as Bonnie and Clyde were outlaws and robbers who emerged out of Texas during the Great Depression.  They were part of a gang of outlaws involved in about a dozen bank robberies, small stores, and gas stations. They killed 9 police officers and several civilians.

Bonnie and Clyde were ambushed in Bienville Parish, Louisiana on a rural road and killed on May 23, 1934. The ambush took place during the daytime. They were shot by four Texas police officers and two Louisiana officers.

There is a monument at the death site. Exit I-20 and head south through Gibsland, LA. Then, make a right on a small side street heading west. Continue for a few miles. The monument is located on the north side of the street.
