Location:

Located between 2 and 3 miles west of Hwy 151 on Hwy 6.

History:

The Amana Colonies were once inhabited by German Pietists who sought to form a communal living situation to uphold their beliefs. The Amana Colonies were never inhabited by Amish people. The communal living arrangements continued until the 1930′s when the economic and social conditions in the colonies began to deteriorate.

The South Amana Cemetery is a well-kept graveyard located just off the highway under a grove of evergreen trees. It is surrounded on all sides with barbed wire fence that may very well be ELECTRIC fencing to keep people and cows out of the graveyard, so beware. This graveyard is still in use, or at least appears to be as we saw graves from as recent as the late 1980′s.

Haunting:

Reports of light anomalies.
