Madison is the capital of Wisconsin and the county seat of Dane County. It has a population of approximately 235,000 residents.
State Capitol Information:
The State Capitol building in Madison is located between Lake Monona and Lake Mendota at 2 East Main Street in Madison, Wisconsin. It is the only State Capitol in the United States built on the isthmus. The first state capitol building was built in 1838, but replaced 25 years later, in 1863 by a larger building. This building caught on fire and was badly damaged. The current State Capitol building was built between 1906 and 1917.

Paranormal activity is reportedly greatest on the fourth floor of the south wing of the State Capitol Building in Madison, Wisconsin. In this area, doors purportedly open and close without explanation and disembodied footsteps are occasionally observed also.
