The Foster Witch | Dolly Cole’s Grave Information:
DO NOT VISIT THIS LOCATION WITHOUT PERMISSION! This area is regularly used by hunters and a nearby sportsman’s club. They are often shooting guns and arrows and if you go there, without permission, you could DIE! If you attempt to trespass on the land at night, you could be mistaken for a poacher. If you are caught at this location without having obtained permission to be there YOU WILL BE ARRESTED!
Dorothy Cole’s body was discovered near Ramtail Road in Foster, Rhode Island. She was 27 years old. No one was ever charged with her murder. However, there is a nearby bridge named after this Dorothy Cole.
Dolly Ellen Cole was also known as the Foster Witch. She was apparently gifted as a healer and neighbors, thinking she was a witch, set her house on fire when they thought Dolly was inside. Unfortunately, however, her daughter was the only one in the house. Dolly swore revenge on the people who killed her daughter She had resided on Tucker Hollow Road. She is an entirely different person than the Dorothy Cole mentioned above though the two are often confused because of their similar names.
A nearby pond is named for yet another “Dolly” who once owned the land where Dolly Ellen Cole is often observed. This particular “Dolly” died at the age of 97 years.
Ghosts and the Paranormal at Dolly Cole’s Grave in Foster, Rhode Island:
The ghosts of mill workers who died in a kiln explosion as well as the victims of plague are said to haunt this area near Dolly Cole’s grave. Dorothy Ellen Cole is said to haunt the bridge near Ramtrail Road.
Dolly Cole is said to appear, often to hunters from the local sportman’s club, as a brunette, long-haired woman with pale skin wearing old-fashioned men’s clothing. She appears to be incarnate, but disappears suddenly, unexpectedly when people turn to look in the another direction.
