The Lonely Bridge in Westminster, South Carolina:

The Lonely Bridge is located near the old saw mill in Westminster. The stories about this bridge are similar to stories told about the various Cry Baby Bridges in South Carolina and throughout the United States. But, there is a twist. In most Cry Baby Bridge stories, a child is drowned in the river and the mother of the child haunts the bridge. At Cry Baby Bridges, people also frequently report hearing disembodied crying sounds from the ghostly infant. However, at the Lonely Bridge in Westminster, folks claim that a woman drowned in the river and that she haunts the location as a result. Some pieces are missing from the story, however, including, most significantly why she drowned in the river. Further, why is this bridge known as “Lonely Bridge”??

Ghosts and the Paranormal at the Lonely Bridge in Westminster, South Carolina:

People report seeing the ghost of a woman swooping down onto their car when they drive over the Lonely Bridge in Westminster, South Carolina.

  1. The problem I have with the woman falling in the river is the bridge doesn’t cross a crosses a railroad track.
I’ve lived here all my life.have always headed lonely bridge was haunted.
But I’ve never heard the story about the river.
And I don’t know if this has been mentioned before, but the bridge is beside the old saw mill.but on the other side is a huge, old cemetery.
