The Trinity Methodist Episcopal Church is located at 16th and Harrison in Topeka, Kansas. It is also known as “The Harrison Church”.

Harrison Church was designed as both a church and a community center. As a community center, it was meant to aid in keeping some of the children in the neighborhood out of trouble. The church was built without a steeple and has a unique interior design. The exterior of the Harrison Church has a number of odd signs and sigils including a maltese cross, fountains, and several upside down crosses, apparently. The church had 90 stained glass windows and thus became aptly known as the “Church of the Beautiful Windows”.

Athletic events and wedding receptions were held in the basement of the Harrison Church.

In the late 1960’s the Harrison Church was sold to group whose building had been destroyed by a tornado in 1966. It became known as the Lane Chapel at that time. Membership began to decline and in the 1990’s, the church sold its 90 stained glass windows to the McPherson Wrecking Company as many of them had been targeted by vandals.

Since that time the Harrison Church has had several owners. The various owners have worked to restore the Harrison Church its former grandeur. It was once listed as one of the most haunted places in Kansas. Paranormal State aired a program on the Harrison Church in February of 2009.
