On the day of our visit to the Winnebago Indian Reservation, we spoke with a 20-something woman clad in a green sweatshirt, hair pulled back into a slightly disheveled pony tail, at the “Pronto” gas station in Homer, Nebraska. She was friendly and familiar with the area and told us about hauntings that she had heard of or had personal experiences with. One that she mentioned with some enthusiasm was this location, the Glowing House near “Walt”. She claimed that said house did indeed glow. Her words, in fact were, “I sweat to God it really did glow…”
Walthill is a small town of less than a thousand people. It is located in Thurston county on the far northeastern edge of Nebraska where the landscape is hilly and rolling and mostly desolate like one might imagine a hobbit habitat to look (but fewer trees, perhaps).
A house that “glows”.
