Wheat Ridge Middle School-Gymnasium

Located at 7101 West 38th Ave. in Wheat Ridge, CO.

According to the student lore, there was a once a "shoot out" where the gymnasium is now located for the middle school and this is the source of the hauntings.

The original building was built in 1924. It was replaced in 1995 and rebuilt at the same location following the demolition of the Reed Street Stadium, which allowed more room for the growing middle school.

We have not been able to verify the historical accuracy about the "shoot out" on this property.

Reports of apparitions in the boys and girls locker rooms.

  1. I went to Wheat Ridge Middle School and sometimes I stayed after school for soccer practice. Sometimes I stayed till about 8:00 at night in the gym and heard weird sounds coming from the girls locker room. Most of the time I would hear cheering. That building is definitely haunted. I do not think there was a shoot out though. Now the building is “Stevens Elementary” and they also have a ghost story. The story is that a little girl haunts the rocking chair in the library, and if you don’t ask the spirit of the girl to sit in her chair, you will die. I’ve sat in the chair a lot and nothing has happened. But that doesn’t mean there isn’t a ghost……This building is definitely haunted. If you’re reading this ghost hunters, come to my school!
