Evansville is located in the far southern region of the state of Indiana.

The Willard Library Information:

The Willard Library was founded by Willard Carpenter, who funded the institution for the community of Evansville. Willard Carpenter began the project in 1877, but died before its completion in 1883.

Unfortunately, despite his philanthropy, the people of Evansville apparently spent a fair amount of time stabbing Willard Carpenter in the back, as reported by newspapers after his death. Much of the backstabbing was done by members of his own family. According to one source, Willard Carpenter was generous with the public but relatively stingy with his family. Essentially, Willard Carpenter had built the Willard Library as a monument to himself. He had made it very clear that his good name in the community meant more to him than his wife or children.

Ghosts and the Paranormal at The Willard Library in Evansville, Indiana:

People have reported seeing a Grey Lady at the Willard Library since the 1930′s. A variety of staff and members of the Evansville community have reported seeing apparitions on the property. Evansville police responded to a security alarm at the library and saw two ghosts in an upstairs window of the library.

People have reported various other odd phenomena at the Willard Library. Water is turned on or off, people smell perfume at odd times and places, cold spots, unexplained noises, and objects moving around without explanation are some of the reports that have been made at the Willard Library.
