Rosendale, Wisconsin

Rosendale is a village in Fond du Lac County, Wisconsin. It is a small community of approximately 1,000 residents. The village is located partially within the Town of Rosendale and partially within the Town of Springvale.

Rosendale is situated along Highway 23 and Highway 26, approximately 15 miles from the major resort area of Green Lake, Wisconsin. Speed limits in this area are heavily enforced. So much so, that local Rosendale businesses sell t-shirts that say, “Rosendal: Just the Ticket!”

Witch Road Information:

The actual name of Witch Road is “Callan Road”, or, according to some sources, “Callen Road”.

  1. When I was a teenager we used to mess around down here. We called it Witch’s Hollow or Witch’s Thorndike. The house was still standing at that time and we used to go inside at night and look around. There was so much stuff inside. I still have a hat I found there.

    The last time I was there I was with a friend and two girls late at night. My friend had a flashlight and we were wandering around the yard of the house. All of a sudden the flashlight disappeared. I went over and saw him lying in a hole, about 7′ by 3′ by 3′. I shined my light around and saw there were four such holes, and a shovel at the head of one. We all looked at each other and saw the thought going through our minds…’four of us…four graves’. And ran like we’d never run before back to the car to get out of there. I’ve no idea who dug the holes or why they were there…
