A maid from the 18th century sometimes gets guest rooms ready for bedtime, turning on the bath, or the lights, or flushing the toilets in the middle of the night.
Some speculate that there are more than four dozen ghosts at this haunted hotel in New Orleans.
The building where the Omni Royal is now located was once the site of the New Orleans slave market. This was where slaves were bought and sold. Often, the slaves were maltreated.
New Orleans paranormal investigators have captured photographic evidence of the Omni’s earthbound entities.

Rated as one of the most haunted hotels in New Orleans, the Hotel Monteleone was built in 1886 and is host to at least 12 ghosts. The haunted nature of this 1886 hotel has been celebrated in October. The building was featured on Travel Channel’s, “Weird Travels”. The International Society of Paranormal Research investigated this location and found that William Wildemere, a former employee died inside the Hotel Monteleone. He perished natural causes but his spirit continues to linger at this New Orleans haunted hotel.
A 10 year old boy and another younger spirit, are said to play hide-and-seek at the Hotel Monteleone. They aren’t permanent residents, but they purportedly return to the building from time to time to stir things up and hang out together.
Visitors have reported that the elevator will often stop on the wrong floor. Those who get off make their way down a hall that gets progressively colder until, at the end of it, they see apparitions of children playing.
The Grandfather clock in this family-owned haunted hotel is often repaired by the ghost of a man who can be observed working on it either in the daytime or at night. A bare-naked Mardi Gras ghost reveled in one of Hotel Monteleon’s rooms during the actual Mardi Gras season. His spirit was seen wearing only a mask and nothing else. A jazz singer and a lost child make their presence known and then disappear suddenly. The original owner of the hotel is also said to walk the corridors.

Located adjacent to the French Quarter in New Orleans, LA, Le Pavillon is an excellent choice for folks looking for a haunted hotel during their stay. It is one of the most haunted hotels in New Orleans. The hotel actually hired a paranormal investigation team to validate their claims of paranormal activity in the building. The paranormal team found the presence of a teenage girl named Eva, Ada, or Ave (they couldn’t tell for sure) who was confused and distraught. This ghostly adolescent is said to have been lingering at Le Pavillon since the 1840’s. She was struck by a carriage and perished due to the injuries.
A young wealthy young couple is also said to haunt Le Pavillon Hotel. Their spirits date back to the 1920’s.
Another man from the 1920’s was also detected by the paranormal investigation team. His spirit is said to be a prankster. He aims to keep the cleaning crew on their toes.
A graying old woman has been seen sitting on the edge of a bed in the hotel. The guest awoke to find the ghost stroking his hair and saying, “I will never let you go.” He jumped up and turned on the light, but she had already disappeared by this time.
More than one paranormal investigation team has explored Le Pavillon. The different groups disagree on how many ghosts haunt the building, but some say they’ve documented over 100 of them. Having functioned as a Confederate hospital at one time, this hotel has seen some gruesome sights. The ghosts of the Hotel Provincial make testament to the fact that there was much unfinished business and many tragic lives lost in the building. Ghostly doctors as well as soldiers wander the hallways. Sometimes they reach out to guests for help. Disembodied moaning sounds and cries of pain have been reported in the building.
Building 5 is reputedly the most haunted structure on site. One little girl stepped out of the shower to find a pile of towels on the floor. Upon looking more closely, she saw that they weren’t towels, but rather, bloody bandages and dirtied sheets.
A security guard reported having a rare experience in this building. He stepped out of the elevator into a room that had been transformed before his eyes into the Civil War hospital complete with wounded soldiers and doctors hurrying from cot to cot. The building, as it was at this current time was completely obscured. The stunned security guard stood motionless, waiting for the vision to disappear. It is rare for individuals to have these kinds of experiences even in very haunted places. Visit the C. C.
