Hookman’s Cemetery is the site where the Hookman is purportedly buried at the top of a hill in a rural area between Peru and Wabash, Indiana. This lurid fellow, the Hookman, was said to walk lover’s lane in Peru, Indiana in search of hapless couples to attack with his prosthetic hook.

The Hookman’s Graveyard is located between Peru and Wabash, Indiana. Take Highway 24 going east out of Peru. Then, take a sharp right before reaching Wabash on a road called “Lover’s Lane”. This road looks more like a driveway into a business than a road. The dirt road juts south at a sharp angle. Continue along Lover’s Lane to the first dirt road on the left. Take this road to the haunted cemetery in Peru, IN. Because the roads are unpaved, consider visiting when the weather is dry and no precipitation is expected.

Visitors say there is a perpetual fog that sits on top of the cemetery’s hill. Shadowy mists and disembodied voices have been reported here.

In Robert’s Cove, Louisiana, there is another Hookman’s Cemetery worth checking out although the story behind this haunted graveyard is quite different from the haunted cemetery in Peru, Indiana.

Houma, Louisiana is a hotbed of paranormal activity. Folks actually live along Coteau Road and believe it or not, they often see shadow figures walking around in the distance near some metal sheds. (Some of the people who live in the area can hardly believe their eyes.) Strange mists also reportedly cross the road at times.

Check out the haunted Bayou Sally Road and the haunted Ardoyne Plantation as well if you’re in the area. The most unusual haunted location in Lousiana is Oak Manor Cow Graveyard, also a must-see in Houma, LA if you have the time.

According to local lore, four teenagers died tragically along Potter Road in Doyline, LA. They were driving home drunk from the Homecoming Dance, went off the road and ran into a tree.

This part of the story is very similar to other haunts in the United States including Smitty’s Curve in Geneva, NE and Jetmore Curve in Jetmore, KS.

The exact location along Potter Road where this accident was said to take place is not specified in online forums, however, there was said to be cross in front of the tree that once marked the location of the four deaths. Locals claim that blood would run from the cross to the tree. The cross has unfortunately been removed and today, blood runs up the tree and visitors to the death site say they can hear the disembodied sounds of voices and weeping at the haunted site on Potter Road.

Within the city limits of Bossier City, there is a curve in the railroad tracks where folks have reported hearing disembodied voices, wailing, and cries. According to local lore, many years ago, a young mother and her children were in a vehicle that stalled on the railroad tracks. The train hit the car sometime between 10:30 and 11:00 PM according to tales and it is at this time that visitors are most likely to hear the ethereal sounds at the tracks.

According to our research, there are several different areas near Bossier that have been dubbed the “haunted railroad tracks”.

There is a steep curve in the railroad tracks near the intersection of Benton and Shed Roads. Follow Benton Road out of the city running parallel to the railroad tracks to find it.

Another person reported that the haunted railroad tracks in Bossier are on a section located on Swan Lake Road going toward I-220.

Finally, one last reporter said that haunted area of the tracks are near the Shreveport-Blanchard Highway.

Highland Road is the site of some beautiful homes and well-preened golf courses, but in September and October, residents report seeing horrific apparitions of Confederate soldiers bloodied and often missing limbs from battle.

Ghosts of Confederate soldiers are regularly reported at this location. Sometimes the apparitions are seen walking along the road. Sometimes they are seen crossing the road. People have reported seeing the ghosts along Highland Road from Lee Drive to Gardere Lane. Sometime in the year 1999 or 2000, several drivers reported seeing a man walking across the road wearing a dirty, blood-stained Confederate uniform. Police were called to the scene but the man was never found.
