The History:

Boulder High School was founded in 1875 as a preparatory school for the University of Colorado. Its location just on the fringes of the CU campus, along Boulder Creek makes sense out of its association to the University system. It was the first high school founded in Colorado.

The school was constructed in an art deco style.

The theatre department at Boulder High School was established in 1937.

The Haunting:

Reports of disembodied footsteps and other unexplainable sounds. Personal experiences include feelings of dread. Citations of paranormal activity are centered on the tunnel area that connects the dressing rooms under the stage to the school lobby.

Observations:

Rumors note the existence of a much more vast underground tunnel system that connects the University to Boulder High School.

The Boulder High School was under construction on the exterior of the building when we visited.
