Northern Water Conservancy District

The History:

The Colorado Big Thompson Project feeds the Northern Colorado water system which includes Carter Lake. The Colorado Big Thompson Project is the largest transmountain water diversion project in Colorado. It was constructed between 1938 and 1957 (Northern Water Conservancy District, n.d.).

We have not yet been able to find historical information to verify some of the assertions made in reports at the Shadowlands Haunted Index site regarding a man named Mr. Bennet, whether or not he was shot, etc.

The Haunting:

Apparition of a man has been reported near and along Bennet Road carrying a canvas bag thrown over his shoulder. The apparition is believed to be Mr. Bennet (Shadowlord, n.d.).
