Chalmette Battlefield is located just down the river from New Orleans. It was the site of the Battle of New Orleans fought on January 8, 1815 during the War of 1812. The Beauregard House, located at the Chalmette Battlefield site functioned as a hospital for the American soldiers during the war.
Visitors have reported seeing the ghosts of soldiers making their way through the battlefield as though it were a camp. Another, headless ghost has been seen walking on the levee at night. Strange and inexplicable sounds have been reported along with the ethereal sounds of guns and cannons.
Shadow people, apparitions, cold spots, and disembodied footsteps have been reported in the Beauregard House.
Southern Area Paranormal Society has investigated the location.
