Located on St. Charles Avenue in the Garden District of New Orleans, The Columns Hotel is home to many spirits most of whom are previous owners of the building. In the ballroom or garden area, visitors report seeing a Lady in White. Throughout the property, a well-dressed man is said to walk around, checking in on things to make sure the guests are okay.
This impressive Italianate building was constructed in 1883 by Simon Hersheim (a cigar manufacturer). It overlooks the St. Charles streetcar line. Hersheim died in 1898 and the house was made into a boarding house and then a hotel.
