Hanover, New Hampshire
Hanover is located along the Connecticut River in Grafton County, New Hampshire. It is a community of approximately 12,000 residents.

Alpha Theta House Haunting:
In 1934, the Alpha Theta House was known as the Theta Chi House. That year, nine male students perished from carbon monoxide poisoning while sleeping there. As a result, the Theta Chi House was demolished. The Alpha Theta House was built to replace it, but some of the foundation still remains.
Apparitions have been reported at the Alpha Theta House at Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire. Residents most often report strange activities occurring in the basement of the house. One fascinating report says that students have seen extra rooms in the basement that later disappear. Also, apparitions of men in old style clothing have been seen gathering in the basement of the Alpha Theta House.
Laundry purportedly moves without explanation at the Alpha Theta House. Sometimes it is found scattered about unaccountably.
Dartmouth Hall Haunting:
In the original building known as Dartmouth Hall, student apparently conjured a demon on the third floor. A number of sightings of ghosts and shadow figures were reported after this incident. The original Dartmouth Hall building however, burned to the ground in 1904. Since it burned down and was rebuilt, reports of paranormal events have ceased.
Baker Library Haunting:
In the 1940’s the Library Bulletin made the claim that an employee saw an apparition on the third floor of the building. In 2002, a student reported that an entire shelf of books literally disappeared right before his eyes. Strange noises have also been reported in the room below the spire.
Panarchy Undergraduate Society House Haunting:
The Panarchy Undergraduate Society is located at 9 School Street in Hanover, New Hampshire. The building was once owned by a physician who purportedly hid his schizophrenic daughter in the attic. The girl apparently committed suicide up there in the attic and some students have reported a femal apparition roaming about up there. Some have reported strong feelings of uneasiness in the room.
