Flinderation Tunnel Information:
The Flinderation Tunnel is 1086 feet long.
To reach Flinderation Tunnel, one set of directions we found said to travel down Route 50 toward Clarksburg from Salem, West Virginia. Turn left off Route 50 onto Flinderation Road and drive about ½ a mile. On the right side of the road, you will see a place to pull off. Pull off and look to the right. There is a gravel trail. Follow this gravel trail road to the entrance of the Flinderation Tunnel.
Here is another set of directions to Flinderation Tunnel:
Get on I-79 toward Clarksburg/Bridgeport, West Virginia. Take exit 119 and turn onto Highway50 West. Drive 13.4 miles to the sign on the right side of the road that says, “Flinderation Road.” Turn right onto this road. Turn right at the turn off immediately after that sign. Drive over the bridge. The road comes to a “T” intersection at the end of the bridge. Turn right and drive 0.2 miles. On the right, you’ll see a path blocked off by a brown gate. Park there. Walk down the path to the Flinderation Tunnel. There is a picnic bench at the entrance.
Ghosts and the Paranormal at the Flinderation Tunnel in Salem, West Virginia:
Salem locals claim to hear train whistles and see ghostly train lights coming toward them. Rumors also exist that the Ku Klux Klan lynched its victims in the Flinderation Tunnel.
Disembodied screams, the sound of a train, and sobbing sounds have been reported in the Flinderation Tunnel in Salem, West Virginia.
EVP’s and photographic anomalies have been captured.
