Keene State College is a liberal arts college that was founded in 1909 as a teacher’s college. It was originally known as the Keene Normal School, and then as the Keene Teachers College. Today it has an enrollment of 6,400 students.

Huntress Hall Haunting:
The ghost of Harriet Huntress is said to haunt Huntress Hall. Her apparition as well as disembodied sounds have been reported most frequently on the fourth floor and in the attic. Some have reported hearing the sound of Harriet’s wheelchair moving across the floor.
