The Marine Corps Base Camp Pendelton is a major West Coast base for the United State Marine Corps. It is located in southern California along the coast in San Diego County.

Camp Pendelton was established in 1942 to train U.S. Marines for World War II. It was named after Marine General Joseph Henry Pendelton (1860-1942).

According to one source, the second floor room of one of the barracks is haunted by a marine who shot himself following a break-up with his fiance. People have reported furniture that gets moved out of place mysteriously and the disembodied sounds of a man humming the “Jeopardy” game show song. One marine sleeping the room reported feeling as though he had been slapped by an unseen entity. Strong feelings of uneasiness have also been reported in this room.
