Also known as the Alcatraz of the South or “The Farm”, the Louisiana State Penitentiary is the largest maximum security prison in the entire United States with 6,300 prisoners and 1,800 staff. It is also a paranormal hotspot. This is a prison farm that is operated by the Louisiana Department of Public Safety and Corrections. It is located at the end of Louisiana Highway 66, 22 miles northwest of St. Francisville. Both men and women on death row are located at the Angola facility.

Disembodied footsteps and strange electrical phenomena have been reported as well as shadow people.
