Snow Hill is located in Worcester County, Maryland. It is a small town of about 2,500 reisdents.

Snow Hill Inn Information:

The Snow Hill Inn building was once the post office, an apartment building and the doctor’s home. It is said to be haunted by the ghost of the town doctor.

The Snow Hill Inn was built in the 1830’s. Dr. John S. Aydelotte lived in the house in the 1870’s. His son William committed suicide at the age of 21 in 1904 while attending college. William apparently sought to end his life due to bad grade and cut his own throat several times. Dr. Aydelotte died in 1929. He was buried in Whatcoat Cemetery, a few blocks away from the Snow Hill Inn.

Ghosts and the Paranormal at the Snow Hill Inn in Snow Hill, Maryland:

The spirit of Dr. Aydelotte and his son William are believed to haunt the Snow Hill Inn in Show Hill, Maryland. Guests have named the ghost “J.J.”

“J.J.” is said to open and close doors, turn lights on and off without explanation, set off fire alarms and appear in mirrors. He is also said to put out candles, start fires in the fireplace, and make the guest room beds shake from time to time.

The Barrister Room (William’s room as a child) is considered the most haunted room.
