Toal House Bed and Breakfast | aka Villa Theresa Guest House

History of the Toal House in Hot Springs, South Dakota:

The Toal House, once known as the Villa Theresa Guest House sits on a bluff overlooking Hot Springs, South Dakota. It originally functioned as a men’s gaming house called the Sioux City Club. In the 1920’s the millionaire O. F. Butler purchased the building and converted it into a guesthouse for his rich friends.

In 1990, the building was opened as the Black Hills Bed and Breakfast. Today it is known as the Toal House Bed and Breakfast.

Visitors to the Toal House Bed and Breakfast have reported the strong smell of perfume or cigar smoke in upstairs rooms when no one around them is wearing perfume. The ghost of a little girl named Giselle has been sighted on the staircase and throughout the Toal House Bed and Breakfast.
