The Place d’Armes is yet another haunted hotel in New Orleans.
The Place d’Armes Hotel in New Orleans is located in the middle of the French Quarter. There are 84 guest rooms in historic, renovated townhouses just steps from Jackson Square and the St. Louis Cathedral.
According to some stories, this haunted hotel was constructed on a plot of land where a school house was once located. The school was destroyed by fire and children and teachers are said to have burned to death in the tragic blaze. Visitors report strange goings-on related to this incident including the ghost of a young girl who knocks on doors looking for her grandmother.
As one of the most haunted hotel in New Orleans, the Vieux Carre Place d’Armes is host to a number of ghosts including that of an old man who is dressed in old-fashioned garb. The man will nod kindly to guests and then disappear before their very eyes.
